Join fellow alumni, and volunteer to help FDU students learn the art and skill of networking their way to success.
First-year students are required to take the course, University 1002: Preparing for Professional Life. It is a professional development course designed to help students explore career options and build professional skills. Specifically, this course highlights the importance of networking as a tool in their career development.
Alumni Volunteer Role
No formal presentation is necessary. We just want you! Choose to volunteer for one or both sessions.
Students will be instructed to ask you questions about your education, career, work, etc. Your role is to be supportive, enthusiastic and patient! (Some of our students are shy.) We will have you rotate through several groups for about 15 minutes each then leave time for open networking.
Questions
Please feel free to e-mail Donna Robertson, University Director, Career Development or e-mail Kenneth Lam, Executive Director, Office of Alumni Relations and Development.
