Dr. Sean Stein Smith, BS'10, MS'12, MBA'13, assistant professor of business and economics and Lehman College, City University of New York examines and discusses the sizzling hot topics of blockchain, bitcoin, and cryptoassets. Dr. Stein Smith introduces and helps breakdown what is bitcoin--how was it developed and what are the current market trends. He reviews the different types of blockchains and how they are used. Finally, Dr Stein Smith delves into the different kinds of cryptoassets that exist, and how they are applied in the current market.

Dr. Sean Stein Smith, BS'10, MS'12, MBA'13, CPA, DBA, CMA, CGMA, CFE, is a professor of business at economics at the City University of New York - Lehman College. He also serves on the Advisory Board of the Wall Street Blockchain Alliance (WSBA), where he chairs the Accounting Work Group. He is also the chairperson of the NJCPA's Emerging Technologies Interest Group (#NJCPATech). He sits on the Advisory Board of Gilded, a TechStars ’19 company and AICPA-CPA.com startup accelerator. He was also a Visiting Research Fellow at the American Institute for Economic Research during 2019. In addition Dr. Stein Smith has authored numerous Blockchain & Crypto courses and articles, and is a subject matter expert and contributor for forbes.com and Accounting Today. Sean is also the founder of the Institute for Blockchain & Cryptoasset Research, an institute focused on producing leadership to encourage broader adoption of blockchain and cryptocurrency technology.
